Smart Start, Early Start: The Terrible, Awful, Dreaded Saturday Announcement addresses the right time to begin helping a student to successfully complete an eighth-grade exit project (or any science project for that matter). That time is always now. The article includes an example of using the Internet for science learning, cites the New York City Science Performance Standards and more.

This would be a helpful article for parents and for teachers who want to coach parents on how to coach their children in productive, active science learning.
