This practice guide presents five recommendations intended to help educators improve students’ understanding of and problem- solving success with fractions.
Each recommendation is followed by: • Narrative explanation, • Summary of evidence, • How to carry out the recommendation; • And potential roadblocks and solutions. The practice guide progresses from the most basic to more complex fraction ideas including ratios, rates and proportions. With examples, figures, and a glossary, it is easy to navigate and will be useful to teachers across the grades. Please share this resource from The U.S. Department of Education- Institute of Education Sciences K-8 math resource with your colleagues, and feel free to contact us with any questions! http://ies.ed.gov/ncee/wwc/pdf/practicegui...s_pg_093010.pdf |
